But first, you must reach 'the end of the story' to have such a reward. You will lose your powers and retain your memories of this experience. The same situation applies to those you have summoned or when they die. You will return to the exact moment when you left your home reality. ".Will I be able to go home at the end of this?" I question, desperately wanting to see my family again. Will you work with those seen as heroes, who have skeletons in their closets that will turn the people they believe they protect against them in an instant? Will you find your calling as a so-called "villain," someone who subverts the law for their own ends, even if doing so helps more people in the end? Or will you strike out on your own, take no sides and decide for yourself what is right and wrong?" the Outsider from Dishonored muses. For others, like me, you have caught their attention and they want to see what one such as yourself in such a position of power will do. For some, they seek justice, or at least what they believe it to be. We have brought you here to this dying reality for many different reasons. "." I come very close to pissing myself because I see everyone from the Beyonder from Marvel Comics, Featherine Augustus Aurora from Umineko, Ultraman King from the Ultra Series, to even the giant, white orb that is the Traveler from Destiny. "Can we move on, please? All this smart talk is making me bored, and I have a playdate with Superman in a few minutes." Mr. "Well, lying about his precarious situation is inappropriate when facing multi-dimensional extinction." Rosalind Lutece proclaims. But you could at least pretend to care about his feelings." Dewitt and his powerful, mentally unstable young daughter?" "How else would you define our experience with Mr. "That is an upsetting way to describe our thought experiment with Booker Dewitt." Robert Lutece from Bioshock Infinite replies to his "sister." "We would know more than most about kidnapping men." We did, after all, kidnap him from his home reality." "Now, don't be too imposing on the young man. "We've dampened your emotions." fucking Q from Star Trek declares with amusement in his voice. What I was not expecting to see was a collection of Random Omnipotent Beings. I turn around, expecting to see a Random Omnipotent Being, or some other eldritch abomination that brought me into this doomed world. "That would be because of us." A calm, amused voice sounds out behind me. How the hell am I not having a mental breakdown?' I mean seriously, Brockton Bay is where literal Nazis get to do whatever they want because of a stupid "parahuman feudalism" experiment. '.oh no.' Are two words insufficient to describe the situation I am in as I look upon a city that would give Gotham a run for its money in how gloomy and depressing it is. That being said, waking up like a classic isekai character on an old road to see the decrepit sign that reads "Brockton Bay" is not something I thought would ever happen to me. I love Wildbow's story, but WOG is annoying, especially when Wildbow contradicts himself sometimes. Even the canon timeline itself is a mess. Mary Sues and Nice Guys run rampant in stories intended to "fix" that depressing wreck or try to mock it as much as possible. They are filled with so many tropes that tend to ignore canon and concern themselves with trying to fuck over everyone in the story. "The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world."
